Liga MX: Chivas sign Raul Gudino from FC Porto
Chivas de Guadalajara announced its second signing this transfer window this Tuesday, with the addition of Raul Gudino. The 22-year-old goalkeeper is making the rare move at a young age from Europe back to Mexico with the team where he started his career.
Gudino is a product of Chivas’ youth system, but he never received a chance to play in the Liga MX with Los Rojiblancos. The Mexican shot-stopper had been with FC Porto since 2015, but never received any minutes with the main squad.
Gudino was loaned out to União da Madeira and APOEL, where he still received very limited time in net. The 22-year-old will fight for a starting job with Miguel Jimenez and Jose Antonio Rodriguez at Chivas for the Apertura 2018.

Jimenez and Rodriguez do have more experience than Gudino, but the former FC Porto player is still considered to be an exciting prospect. Given his time in Europe, he could be the starter for Liga MX games, but it will be a hard-fought battle for the starting role.
It will still be very hard to replace Rodolfo Cota in net and it does not seem like Gudino can fill that gap for next season.
