Liga MX: Cruz Azul keep dominating transfer market, sign Milton Caraglio
Cruz Azul has been the busiest team in the transfer window ahead of the Apertura 2018 with splash signings such as Elias Hernandez, Igor Lichnovsky and Pablo Aguilar. La Maquina has also secured Roberto Alvarado and has reportedly already reached an agreement with Argentine midfielder Ivan Marcone.
Ricardo Pelaez has been on a tear since being signed as the Mexico City team’s sporting director and has now also added Milton Caraglio to the roster. Caraglio was officially announced as Los Cementeros’ latest signing this Wednesday, May 23 and should be a player that can greatly benefit the squad.
Cruz Azul was missing a prominent goalscorer and the Argentine striker may be it as he managed to score eight goals with a limited Atlas squad around him in the Clausura 2018. Felipe Mora was Cruz Azul’s top scorer last season with just four goals and those eight goals were the same as Mora, Martin Cauteruccio and Martin Rodriguez combined.

It is unclear as to what will now happen with Felipe Mora and Martin Cauteruccio as Caraglio does fit better in a lone striker system. The 29-year-old plays a target man role with his immense physical presence and impressive aerial abilities.
Caraglio also excels in hold up play and should have a lot to work with at Cruz Azul with players like Angel Mena, Edgar Mendez and Martin Rodriguez around him.
