Diego Simeone wins sixth title with Atletico Madrid after conquering second Europa League
“El Cholo” Simeone has had an illustrious managerial career since joining Atletico Madrid back in 2011. The Argentine boss had instant success with Los Colchoneros as he won the 2011-2012 UEFA Europa League title.
Since then, Simeone had added five more titles to his name, including another UEFA Europa League title that was won this Wednesday, May 16. Atletico Madrid had a dominant 3-0 win against Marseille in Lyon, France led by France international Antoine Griezmann.
The forward that is rumored to be leaving the club, scored two goals while team captain Gabi scored another to seal the 3-0 result.
Diego Simeone now has two UEFA Europa League titles, a La Liga title, a Copa del Rey title, a UEFA Super Cup and a Supercopa de Espana to his name with Atletico Madrid. Not to mention several individual accolades and making two UEFA Champions League finals as well.

It is still unclear if the South American boss will end up leaving Madrid for another opportunity elsewhere. But he has already created a legacy with Los Colchoneros and will surely be seeking a Champions League title to his name.
