Liga MX: Erick Gutierrez says goodbye to Pachuca with Avengers: Infinity War reference?
Erick Gutierrez is the youngest team captain in the Liga MX at just 22 years old and he also one of the most talented players in the league. At his young age, Gutierrez scored four goals this season and also had three assists as he led Pachuca’s midfield.
The Mexican millennial also is well-infused in trending topics and memes online as he showed recently. Gutierrez posted a picture in reference to Marvel’s latest addition to the Avengers saga, Infinity War.
In the final instances of the film, several people and superheroes fade away and turn to dust at the wrath of the film’s supervillain Thanos. Gutierrez edited a photo of himself imitating how the people in the blockbuster faded away.

This can just be a joke from the 22-year-old but can also have a deeper meaning and send a message that his time in Pachuca may be over. Los Tuzos have produced several young players in recent years like Hirving Lozano, Hector Herrera, Rodolfo Pizarro and Jurgen Damm that have gone on to play in Europe and other top Liga MX teams.
With Hirving Lozano likely leaving PSV Eindhoven after the World Cup and with the Dutch club’s love of Mexican players, Lozano may pass the torch to Gutierrez as the next Mexican player to hit the Eredivisie.
