Liga MX: Playoffs are set, Clasico Capitalino highlights matchups
The Liga MX Clausura 2018 regular season is basically over with just the game between Veracruz and Cruz Azul left in Week 17 of the competition. This game between Tiburones and Celestes will be a meaningless one as the relegation race and the playoffs are already set.
Pumas UNAM booked the final ticket to “la fiesta grande” with a 1-1 draw against Queretaro this Sunday. David Patino’s team will not have an easy task by any stretch as they will face cross-town rivals Club America in the first round of the postseason. This should be the most enticing matchup in the first round of the playoffs as it is a rivalry match and should not lack any ounce of excitement.

Los Superlideres, Toluca will take on a potential dark horse candidate in Monarcas Morelia, who eliminated Los Diablos Rojos in the quarterfinals last season. Toluca has had a tremendous season as the first-place team and will be looking for revenge against the team from Michoacan.
The other two playoff games will be made up of all northern Mexican sides as Monterrey will play Club Tijuana and Santos Laguna will square off against Tigres UANL. Both matchups seem very promising and it is still unclear as to which teams will advance to the semifinals of the competition.
