Three reasons Atlas can defeat Puebla in Week 11 of the Liga MX Clausura 2018
Week 11 of the Liga MX Clausura 2018 will start with two very intriguing matchups this Friday as Monarcas Morelia will play Veracruz and Atlas will host Puebla at the Estadio Jalisco. Atlas has been the worst team this season and will be facing a Puebla team that is poised to make the playoffs. Los Zorros are the underdogs heading into this matchup but do have hope to get the three points from this game. Here are three reasons why Atlas is capable of obtaining the win against La Franja this Friday night.
One of Puebla’s most vital players, Brayan Angulo is set to miss this match after an injury that he picked up last week against Monterrey. The Colombian fullback is one of the best at his position in the Liga MX and helps Puebla in the defense as well as going forward. Alejandro Chumacero could also miss this game but it is still unclear if he will get the start against Atlas. Angulo’s absence could make an impact in this match and will certainly help Los Rojjinegros in this encounter.
The home-field advantage at the Estadio Jalisco is always nice for Atlas especially when the fans show up regardless of the team’s performance. Los Zorros’ lone win this season came at home and the Jalisco has always been a tough place to visit regardless of the current state of the team. Puebla is coming off a tremendous 3-1 win against Monterrey away from home but has struggled away from the Estadio Cuauhtemoc all season. Enrique Meza’s side only has four points from five away games and could struggle in Guadalajara this Friday.

Atlas has to be feeling the pressure now, currently dead last with just four points and just eight points ahead of Veracruz on the relegation table. The fan base has never been overly demanding but the players need to start performing before Los Rojinegros really become a prime candidate for relegation. There is a talented core of players on Atlas, like Clifford Aboagye, Angelo Henriquez, Luis Reyes and Stiven Barreiro but the team needs to start getting results.
