Three games to watch in Week 10 of the Liga MX Clausura 2018 along with the Clasico Nacional
The obvious standout game this weekend in the Liga MX will be the Clasico Nacional between Chivas de Guadalajara and Club America. The fierce rivalry is one of the most anticipated games in every Liga MX season and this game should be very entertaining despite the distinct state of the current clubs from one another. Apart from the game between Los Tapatios and Los Capitalinos, there will other noteworthy matchups in this Week 10 of the Liga MX Clausura 2018. Here are three games to watch this weekend in Mexico’s top-flight division along with the “Super Clasico”.
Monterrey vs Puebla – Saturday, March 3, 2018 (5:00 PM PST/ 7:00 PM CT/ 8:00 PM EST)
Only a point currently separates the two teams on the Liga MX table as Puebla is in eighth place with 14 points while Monterrey is in third with 15. Both teams have some exciting players in the attack but do have distinct tactics from one another which should make for an entertaining encounter. Enrique Meza establishes order and likes to control possession with fluid passes from his team. Antonio Mohamed does not care about possession of the ball and will try and use players like Aviles Hurtado and Dorlan Pabon to strike on counters. Los Rayados could have the edge with the home-field advantage but Enrique Meza did lead Puebla to a 2-0 win against Monterrey last season. This will be a battle of two exciting teams and two very experienced managers that should make for one of the better games this weekend in the Liga MX.

Leon vs Pumas UNAM – Saturday, March 3, 2018 (5:06 PM PST/ 7:06 PM CT/ 8:06 PM EST)
This game has goals written all over it as both teams have potent offenses but struggle defensively. Pumas UNAM has scored 14 goals but has allowed 12 goals while Leon has scored 11 and allowed a league-high 20 goals. David Patino counts with some talented players offensively like Nicolas Castillo and Matias Alustiza, which could cause some major problems to La Fiera’s shaky back line. However, Gustavo Diaz also has some dangerous players in his attack like Mauro Boselli and Elias Hernandez that are capable of creating some magic for Los Esmeraldas. Both teams are in the hunt for playoff spots but are not locks by any stretch and will be motivated to get the three points from the match.
Toluca vs Pachuca – Sunday, March 4, 2018 (10:00 AM PST/ 12:00 PM CT/ 1:00 PM EST)
This game is not a clasico by any stretch of the word but is a classic Liga MX matchup especially since the short tournament format was created in 1996. Toluca and Pachuca are two of the most successful teams in the short tournament format as Los Diablos have seven titles since 1996 while Los Tuzos have six. Both teams are fighting for a playoff spot in the Clausura 2018 and should provide one of the more enticing matchups this weekend. Pachuca has some exciting players like Keisuke Honda, Erick Gutierrez and Angelo Sagal, who have been on point this season. Toluca counts with players like Fernando Uribe, Alexis Canelo and Rubens Sambueza that will try and obtain the three points from the match. Like the Leon versus Pumas UNAM match this game could also have a lot of goals and should be one to watch.
