Union and Arsenal have uneventful draw in Week 15 of Superliga
Week 15 of the Argentina Superliga started up this Friday with an uneventful scoreless draw between Union Santa Fe and Arsenal de Sarandi at the Estadio 15 de Abril. The home team was the heavy favorites heading into the clash as Union has been near the top of the table while Arsenal was dead last.
Most of the action occurred in the second half of the game as Arsenal had a few clear chances delivered by Facundo Quintana. Quintana’s biggest chance of the game came in the 60th minute when he struck the ball far wide of an open net after a pin-point ground pass by a teammate.
Union was also dangerous throughout the encounter with some key opportunities that were not finalized by Franco Soldano and Rodrigo Gomez. Arsenal goalkeeper Pablo Santillo was tremendous in the game with four total saves in the 90 minutes.

Sergio Rondina’s back line was also on point with solid performances by German Ferreyra, Marcos Curado and Facundo Monteseirin, who combined for 21 clearances on the day. The result was a very surprising one for the team from Sarandi, who are still last in the Superliga with just seven points.
This was a dreadful result for Union, who are currently fourth in the Superliga with 26 points but are still trailing first-place Boca Juniors by eight points. Boca Juniors will face 25th-place Temperley at La Bombonera this Sunday in what should be a pretty easy win for the Azul y Oro.
