Veracruz sign Miguel Angel Murillo from Deportivo Cali
Veracruz announced the signing of 24-year-old Colombian striker Miguel Angel Murillo from Deportivo Cali this Monday. The transaction is a six-month loan from the Colombian team for Veracruz with the option to buy at the end of the Clausura 2018 tournament.
The Cali native has played most of his career with his hometown team, Deportivo Cali but had a brief stint with Uruguayan team Peñarol from 2015-2016. Murillo has 34 goals in 99 league appearances for Deportivo Cali from 2012 when his professional career started to just last year.
In Uruguay, the Colombian striker managed to score eight goals in 18 league appearances. Murillo will now face the toughest task in his career as he will play in the highly competitive Liga MX and try and help Veracruz evade relegation.

The 24-year-old is a very physical striker standing in at 6-foot and can be a great finisher in front of the net. Veracruz has typically gone after these type of strikers in recent years that have a solid physical presence like Julio Furch and Cristian Menendez.
Los Tiburones Rojos are yet to score in the Clausura 2018 and could use a player like Murillo to try and generate some offense in this crucial season.
