Nicolas Tagliafico recognized as man of the match in Ajax debut
Nicolas Tagliafico made his debut for Ajax this Sunday as the team from Amsterdam hosted Feyenoord on matchday 19 of the Eredivisie. The Argentine fullback is coming over to European football after shining in his native country with Independiente for a couple of years.
Ajax defeated Feyenoord 2-0 with goals by Donny van de Beek and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar but it was Tagliafico’s effort that stole the show. The 25-year-old defender was up and down the left wing for the entire match and helped create Ajax’s first goal.

The former Independiente captain finished the encounter with six interceptions, four tackles and four clearances. Tagliafico also posted an 84-percent pass accuracy with two key passes, an accurate cross, two accurate long balls and a successful dribble.
The Argentine fullback was recognized as the man of the match in the game by Ajax on social media platforms and this is the start of the successful stint that was expected from Tagliafico in Holland. If the 25-year-old can stay consistent he should break into La Albiceleste’s starting XI for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
