This Thursday, Cruzeiro officially presented its latest signing, 28-year-old Argentine midfielder Federico Mancuello.
The Santa Fe, Argentina native is coming off an unimpressive stint with Flamengo where he failed to be a consistent starter from 2016-2017. Mancuello’s best days were in his native country with Independiente, where he lifted a Copa Sudamericana title back in 2010.
The Argentine played with Los Diablos Rojos from 2008-2015 and also had a loan spell with Belgrano from 2011-2012 in between that stint with El Rojo. 2014 had to be the height of Mancuello’s career as he managed to score 10 goals in just 19 appearances for Independiente.
Mancuello was very highly touted in Argentina at one point and had to be one of the better creative midfielders in the Superliga. The 28-year-old will look to rediscover that form with Cruzeiro after failing at Flamengo and help Celeste in both the Serie A and the Copa Libertadores.
