This Tuesday, Queretaro officially presented new signing Joel Sanchez to the media. The Peruvian midfielder is coming over to Queretaro on a six-month loan from Peruvian club Sporting Cristal.
“Lito” had previously played his entire career in his native Peru with Total Clean, Alianza Lima, Universidad de San Martin and Sporting Cristal. 2017 was not a great year for Sanchez with Sporting Cristal as he had no goals in 32 appearances in the Peruvian league. In 2016, he had a breakout season with Universidad de San Martin scoring eight goals in 41 league appearances.

Sanchez can be a player that is very explosive and creative going forward and has a wealth of experience, inclusively in the Copa Libertadores. The 28-year-old has also played with the Peru national team at some of the most competitive tournaments like World Cup qualifiers and the Copa America.
Sanchez will be looking to have a successful stint with Los Gallos to catch Ricardo Gareca’s attention before the next World Cup. The Peru international is Queretaro’s fifth signing this transfer window and will now be the 12th “Blanquirrojo” in the Liga MX.
