This Tuesday, two Colombian players featured in two different round of 16 Copa del Rey games. Defensive midfielder Daniel Torres played for Deportivo Alaves in their game against Formentera and Luis Muriel played in Sevilla’s bout against Cadiz.
Deportivo Alaves achieved a very comfortable 3-1 win over SD Formentera in the Balearic Islands. Daniel Torres played all 90 minutes and was very impressive with 60 accurate passes, an 87-percent pass accuracy, a key pass, six of nine duels won, three interceptions, three tackles, two clearances and a blocked shot.
Luis Muriel was not as impressive as Torres in his 66 minutes of play in Sevilla’s 2-0 win against Cadiz as the Colombian striker failed to make much of an impact. The 26-year-old had a shot on target, a successful dribble, a key pass, won five of 10 duels and was fouled three times during the encounter against Cadiz.
Both Alaves and Sevilla will now most likely make the quarterfinals of the competition as the second legs of these fixtures should not prove to be much of a problem.
