It was recently reported that Argentinian striker, Lucas Viatri suffered a serious facial injury due to a fireworks accident during Christmas festivities. Uruguayan journalist, Roberto Moar shared pictures of Viatri’s injuries through Twitter and also said that the 30-year-old almost lost his vision.
The injuries appear to be very serious as his eyebrows are completely gone and there seems to be severe inflammation as well. Viatri was currently playing with Penarol in Uruguay and he had helped the team get its 51st league title in 2017.
The Buenos Aires native had played most of his career with Boca Juniors but also had spells with Banfield and Estudiantes de La Plata in his native Argentina. Abroad, Viatri has played with Emelec in Ecuador, Maracaibo in Venezuela, Chiapas in Mexico and Shanghai Shenhua in China. It is unclear as to how long the 30-year-old will be out because of the injury but it does seem like the recovery process could take some time.
